Meatball Subs

Ingredients

  • 1lb 80/20 hamburger meat
  • 1lb Italian sausage
  • 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup shredded Colby-Jack cheese
  • 1 tbsp liquid smoke
  • 1 egg
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 1 pkg provolone cheese
  • 1 pkg hoagie rolls

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400
  2. Preheat cast iron pan to medium heat
  3. In a bowl combine: hamburger meat, Italian sausage, egg, bread crumbs, cheese, and liquid smoke
  4. Mix the mixture until evenly incorporated
  5. Portion out preferred size of meat balls
  6. Once all the meat is portioned place meatballs in the cast iron pan
  7. cook for 8 minutes rotating them every 2 minutes
  8. Then transfer to the oven and cook until internal temp is 165 (about 15 more min)
  9. Remove from heat and pour marinara sauce on them
  10. Add them to your hoagie and then top with provolone cheese
  11. enjoy
